Standing 2,080 feet, Sky Tree Tower in Tokyo is distinguished by Guinness World Records as the tallest tower and newest landmark in Japan. It’s not the only newest tourist attraction in the country, but also functions as the broadcast tower for television and radio program as well. It also has a restaurant and an observation deck for visitors to enjoy.
Its construction started 14th of July 2008 and was completed 29th of February 2012. It opened its doors to the public on May 22, 2012 with about 8,000 expectant visitors. Its distinctive feature includes a spiral, glass-covered skywalk and glass flooring that gives guests a direct view below.
It’s cylindrical structure is to withstand strong winds. It also has oil dampers with the capacity to absorb 50 percent of energy from an earthquake. Tower’s color of the exterior framework is based on Japan’s traditional color called aijiro meaning “Skytree White”.
